Kaya has parlayed her long and successful career in the hospitality industry and social-media sphere into her latest role at the helm of Happy Hour, where she helps businesses in Vancouver’s food & beverage scene better connect with followers and build their brands in honest, organic ways that reflect their unique vision.
Originally from Korea, Kaya was raised in North Vancouver and stoked her love for the hospitality industry by helping popular local brands like The Gull, United Strangers and Strait & Narrow realize the full promise and potential of social media.
Aside from her role as ‘mama bear’ at Happy Hour, Kaya enjoys getting out into the Great Outdoors to forage for mushrooms, go camping and spend quality time with her husband Chris and daughter Harlee at her family’s cabin in the Kootenays.

JC Sorensen
WORDSMITH
JC has more than 25 years of expertise in the print journalism, copywriting and editing fields and a proven track record in account management and social-media content creation and curation for a variety of clients in the Vancouver hospitality industry.
In that role, he’s helped craft the voice and vision for some of Vancouver’s most celebrated and beloved bars, restaurants and breweries, including the Michelin-recognized St. Lawrence, Café Medina and Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar as well as Tacofino, Main St. Brewing and many more.
When not banging the laptop keys and being social behind the screen, you’ll find him at the beach or out on the trails with his wife Sarah and rescue mutt Murphy or soaking up every possible ounce of the burgeoning local food & beverage scene.

Devan Francis
PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER
Devan brings more than a decade of experience behind the lens to the fore at Happy Hour to capture images and videos that help a host of clients in the local food and beverage industry show their best side and more effectively engage with hungry and thirsty followers and fans.
Originally from South Korea, Devan grew up in Grand Prairie, AB and planted roots on the West Coast in 2011 en route to earning his degree in film production from North Vancouver’s Capilano University and working his magic for a variety of production houses like Windowbox Media, TELUS Studios, Pinkbike and GAB Films.
When not behind the lens, you’ll find Devan behind the handlebars on two wheels in the summer and carving the slopes on a pair of skis in the winter and exploring all that BC’s beautiful backcountry has to offer.
